102. At-Takathur

Competition in [worldly] increase diverts you

Greed for more and more distracted you [from God]

The relentless greed of material gains distracts you (from the real purpose of life). (5)

Until you visit the graveyards.1

till you reached the grave

Until you go down to your graves

No! You are going to know.

But you will soon come to know

Nay! But you will come to know

Then, no! You are going to know.

But you will soon come to know

Again, Nay! You will come to know

No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty...1

Indeed, were you to know the truth with certainty

Nay, only if you could have certain knowledge

You will surely see the Hellfire.

you would see the fire of Hell

You would see it now, the Insurmountable Barrier (in the way of your personal development (29:54), (79)

Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty.1

You would see it with the eye of certainty

Finally, you will behold it with sure vision

Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure.1

Then on that Day you shall be questioned about your worldly favours

And, then, on that Day you will be questioned what you did with the boon of life
