Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting].
when the blind man approached him
Because the blind man approached him
But what would make you perceive, [O Muḥammad], that perhaps he might be purified
for how can you know that he might seek to purify himself
How could you know that he might have grown in goodness
Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him?
or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning
Or that he be enlightened and the Reminder might benefit him
As for he who thinks himself without need,
As for him who was indifferent
As for him who deems himself in no need of Guidance
To him you give attention.
you eagerly attended to him
Unto him you give attention
And not upon you [is any blame] if he will not be purified.
though you are not to be blamed if he would not purify himself
Yet it is not your responsibility if he grows not in goodness
But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge]
but as for one who comes to you, eagerly
But as for him who came to you in all eagerness
While he fears [Allāh],
and in awe of God
And feared straying
From him you are distracted.
you pay him no heed
Him did you disregard

Let him who will, pay heed to it
So let him pay heed who will

From what thing [i.e., substance] did He create him?
Of what [stuff] has He created him
Out of what thing has He created him
From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him;
Out of a drop of sperm! He creates and proportions him
From the male and the female gametes He created him, and then fashioned him in due proportion
Then He eased the way for him;
He makes his path easy for him
And then makes the Way easy for him. (Endowed with faculties)
Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him.
Then He causes him to die and be buried
Then causes him to die and brings him to disintegrated states. ('Qabr' = Grave = Disintegrated state = The state of sleep between physical death and Resurrection)

Let man reflect on the food he eats
Let man consider his food. (His own food has involved so many hands from the field to the mouth. Shouldn't he share Our provision with others)
How We poured down water in torrents,
We let the rain pour down in torrents
How We pour water in showers
Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts],
and then We cleaved the earth asunder
And then We split the earth, split and cleave
And caused to grow within it grain
We make the grain grow out of it
And cause the grain to grow therein

And grapes and herbage
and grape vines and vegetables
